Born at the foot of Kilimanjaro, driven by a passion for sharing Africa's greatest peaks with the world.
From Moshi to the Summit
Kilimanjaro Packages was founded in 2008 by Joseph Moshi, a third-generation Chagga guide who grew up in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. What started as a small family operation has grown into one of Tanzania's most trusted climbing companies, with over 10,000 successful summits and a 98% success rate.
Our philosophy is simple: every climber deserves the safest, most rewarding mountain experience possible. We achieve this through proper acclimatization schedules, experienced KINAPA-certified guides, and genuine care for every person who joins our expeditions.
Today, Kilimanjaro Packages operates expeditions on Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, and the Rwenzori Mountains. We remain a locally-owned company, employing over 200 guides, porters, and support staff from the communities surrounding these mountains.
